Centre for Urban Greenery and Ecology (CUGE)

CUGE is a operating division of the National Parks Board, Singapore. Its vision is to be a Regional Platform for the sharing and exchange of knowledge and expertise in urban greenery and ecology. CUGE has been conferred the National CET Institute status, and is positioned as an adult learning institute for the Landscape Industry, providing national qualifications (Workforce Skills Qualifications) based on competency training and assessment. CUGE also provides a comprehensive range of professional certification and development programmes to nurture specialists in the fields of landscape. CUGE leverages on a wide network of local and international partners to design and implement programmes, so as to bring on board best international management practices and to benchmark CUGE’s curriculum.

Landscape Industry Workforce (Technicians, Supervisors and Managers)

CUGE offers Workforce Skills Qualifications for technicians, supervisors and managers

Milestone Programmes: WSQ Certificate in Landscape Operstions, WSQ Higher Certificate in Landscape Operations (Arboriculture), WSQ Advanced Certificate in Landscape Supervision (in 5 specialisations of Arboriculture, Parks, Reserves and Gardens, Landscape, Nursery and Turf and Golf Greens) and WSQ Specialist Diploma in Landscape Management ((in 5 specialisations of Arboriculture, Parks, Reserves and Gardens, Landscape, Nursery and Turf and Golf Greens)

Short Courses :  Short courses to continuously address the competency gaps of the workforce to meet current and future challenges of the Industry.

Talks and Forums: Events for credible overseas professionals and local/foreign practitioners to exchange ideas, perspectives and experiences

 

Landscape Industry Professionals

CUGE offers professional certifications, accredited with international organizations, to provide professional certifications for specializations in the Industry and groom Industry leaders and professionals.

Professional Programmes : Certified Arborist accredited with the International Society of Arboriculture, Certified Practising Horticulturist accredited with the Australian Institute of Horticulture, Certified Playground Safety Inspector accredited with the National Recreation and Park Association of USA and Certified Nature Skills Interpretation Guide accredited with the International Centre for Tourism and Hospitality in Australia.

CUGE Seminar Series/Workshop Series :  These seminar/workshop series feature acclaimed professionals and practitioners in the region to share on best practices in landscape management and research findings.  It will also include international audience.

 

Overseas Leaders/Managers of Park Authority/Agencies

CUGE offers the Executive Programme Series on Greenery Leadership and Management on the strategies and initiatives in developing a Garden City.
