Muis Academy (MA)

Muis Academy was launched in 2007 to focus on three key areas namely, a) training and development of religious leaders and other Muis stakeholders, b) Islamic learning and research, and c) export of models, systems and services. To build capacity for the socio-religious sector and an intellectually vibrant Singapore Muslim community, Muis Academy offers courses and training programmes for educators, administrators, religious and community leaders and policymakers. Through our International Resource Panel of experts and partnerships with renowned institutions, Muis Academy offers programmes to shape a more thoughtful, enlightened and humanistic discourse on Islam. The Academy also conducts study and research on Muslim identity in secular states; Globalisation of religion and its effect on local communities; and Ethical dilemmas of living in the modern world. Muis Academy organises conferences and workshops to share Singapore’s experience of religious administration and managing of religious institutions to other Muslim communities in the world. Acting as a conduit through which Muslim communities abroad can develop institutional capabilities, the Academy offers models, systems and services for effective religious services administration and governance.
